The Meeting*

Recently, I found myself thinking about what I have termed 'the meeting', a meeting that every single person throughout all of human history has had, is having now, or is going to have whether they want to or not.  It's not a scheduled meeting, at least not in terms of us knowing when it's going to occur, although our heavenly Father knows the 'when'.  It's not a formal meeting, annual general meeting, statutory meeting, or board meeting.  It's not a business meeting, it's not a parent-teacher meeting, it's not a team meeting!  It's none of the above and yet, objectively, it's the most important meeting we will ever have.

I can get emotional when I think of this meeting.  Not because I'm sad, on the contrary, it's more a sense of longing that fills my heart and has captured my imagination like nothing else I have ever experienced.  Actually, it's like I can hardly wait to have the meeting.
